Juvenile prison gets Quit Crime Library
The Pakistan Study Centre of Sindh University, Jamshoro, established the Quit Crime Library (QCL) which was inaugurated on Friday in the Juvenile Prison in Hyderabad. The centre's Director Dr Shuja Ahmed Mahesar and IG Sindh Prisons Kazi Nazir Ahmed inaugurated the library. The idiosyncratic library will provide book-reading facilities to jailed adolescents. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mahesar expressed hope that if the inmates adopt the habit of reading, it will help them in their character-building and learning to deal with their psychological tribulations and depression.
"The corrective methods will prove to be more effective than the violence," he said.
