Requisition to be sent for doctors’ recruitment

Dr Yasmin Rashid says Punjab was running on 50% vacancies

LAHORE:

Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that a requisition is being sent to the Punjab Public Service Commission for the recruitment of doctors by the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education.

The minister was presiding over a meeting in which she reviewed measures regarding the recruitment of medical officers, nurses, technologists and other staff. Additional Secretary Zahida Azhar and Deputy Secretary Muhammad Abu Bakar gave a briefing.

“Before our government, the Punjab health department was running with 50 per cent vacancies,” Dr Rashid said. “We are trying our best to meet the shortage of doctors in Punjab’s government teaching hospitals,” she added.
