Instagram users can now create 2022 recap reel
Instagram has introduced an in-app feature that will allow users to create an end-of-the-year reel that can be shared. A new Reels feature will create a recap of 2022 which can be shared with friends and family on the platform.
The Reels can be customised while choosing a narrated template from Bad Bunny, DJ Khaled, Badshah or Stranger Things star, Priah Ferguson.
Recap can include up to 14 photos to share, which will automatically be edited into a Reel to be shared with followers.
According to the company, users will be able to see a “create your 2022 recap reel” prompt on the homepage, which will guide them to create their own template.

Previously, Instagram users created their own year-end throwbacks with their picture collages in a photo grid. Last year, the platform allowed users to select up to 10 stories from the year to share with their followers.
The launch comes as end-of-the-year recaps become popular with other platforms after being started with Spotify Wrapped.
