Carjacker selling stolen vehicles among arrested

Police arrested seven suspected robbers during different encounters between Saturday and Sunday.

A carjacker selling stolen vehicles in nearby towns was also among the arrested.

Sharae Noor Jahan Police encountered suspicious people near Tanki Ground in Block T of North Nazimabad on Sunday. The police officers flashed the suspects and asked them to stop for identification, but they opened fire and tried to flee. Police retaliated, injuring Hasnain, 18, and Hunzla Murad, 18, while their other accomplices, Bilal and Irfan, escaped.

A 9mm pistol, a 30 bore pistol, ammunition, cash, mobile phones, and a motorcycle were seized from Hasnain and Hunzala, who were found to be involved in dozens of street crimes before.

Police rushed the suspects to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical assistance. An investigation will start after they recover from injuries, a police spokesman said.

Meanwhile, a mobile police squad of Shah Faisal Colony police arrested two suspects, Sajjad Ali and Asad Sajid, in injured condition after an alleged encounter in Shah Faisal Colony No. 5. The injured accused were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical assistance. Mobile phones, cash and motorcycles were recovered from the armed suspects. The arrested suspects were involved in street crimes and other serious crimes before.

Pakistan Bazar Police arrested two suspects, Asif Sher Mohammad and Waheed Raza Khan, in injured condition after an alleged encounter in Gulshan Zia, Orangi Town. The wounded suspects were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical assistance.
