Police arrest five suspects for involvement in robberies, car theft

Police claimed to have arrested five criminals from different city areas and recovered weapons, motorcycles and stolen cars. The accused were involved in the snatching of vehicles, robbery and other street crimes.

According to police, there was an exchange of fire between an Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) and suspects in Sharifabad. As a result, a suspect, Babar Khan, was arrested in an injured condition while his accomplice managed to escape from the spot. The injured criminal was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed hospital for treatment. Police officials say that weapons and a car stolen from New Karachi were recovered from the accused's possession. The accused confessed to have stolen around 50 vehicles.

In another police encounter that took place at midnight near Irani Camp in Mominabad, two suspects, Ismail Usman and Haroon, were arrested in injured condition. Police recovered a snatched mobile phone, cash, arms and ammunition from them.

The Recovered mobile phone was snatched by the suspects from a citizen two days ago near Liaquatabad Furniture Market. Police said both criminals were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed hospital for treatment. They are involved in different incidents of street crimes.

Separately, a mobile squad of Yousuf Plaza police station arrested Ghulam Yaseen in injured condition after an encounter. Police recovered two mobile phones and a 30 bore pistol from him. Rafi, was injured after an exchange of firing with the police in Gulistan e Jauhar block S near the Railway crossing.
