Jacqueline Fernandez will 'fight aggressively' against Nora Fatehi in court

Former slams defamation suit

After actor Nora Fatehi filed a defamation lawsuit against Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar's extortion case, the news instantly made headlines. Now, Fernandez's lawyer has revealed that his client is not going to take this claim lightly, reported Hindustan Times.

Reacting to the reports, Prashant Patil informed the aforementioned publication that he is yet to receive an official confirmation about the suit but is already prepared to "fight it out aggressively" in court with a countersuit.

"Right now, Jacqueline will not react to it as of now because the court has not taken cognizance of that suit yet. It is only Nora, or somebody, who has leaked the news into the media. Let the court take cognizance, if they do, we will go for quashing it. And once Nora steps into the box, we will definitely conduct cross-examination," elaborated Patil.

Patil also shared his two cents on the defamation suit filed by Fatehi. He said, "That is very unfortunate because Jacqueline has the utmost respect for Nora, to begin with. She has also not intentionally given any statement, forget about Nora, about anything for that matter."

Patil then continued to note that if the lawsuit becomes official, then Fernandez will certainly fight back. "If something like this comes up in the media circle, it will be dealt with legally. That being said, If Jacqueline is dragged to the court, we are ready to fight it aggressively in the court," he added.

Moving on, the lawyer mentioned how the court can also reject Fatehi’s lawsuit before it even goes to trial. "I have not got any official copy out of the courtroom yet, whatever I've gotten is only from the media. Even the court can also reject the notice. It is for the court to decide. It is premature at this stage," concluded Patil.
