The Sindh police on Wednesday withdrew cases filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati in Sindh's Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot and Kashmore districts.

Swati's lawyer Abdul Rauf Korai said that the cancellation report of the cases registered by the police was submitted to the court of the judicial magistrate and civil judge Naseerabad.

The cases were closed by the police in three districts of the province on the orders of the inspector general (IG) Sindh.

The judicial magistrate and the civil judge are expected to issue their orders on the police report shortly and the senator is again likely to be handed over to Islamabad Police.

Swati was to be produced in the court of judicial magistrate and civil judge Naseerabad today on completion of his three-day physical remand.

The PTI leader was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime wing on November 27 for using derogatory language against the military on social media website Twitter.

Subsequently, cases were registered against the PTI leader in Balochistan and Sindh. However, the Balochistan High Court quashed all the cases while the Sindh police took him into custody from Quetta last week.
