PM Shehbaz reconstitutes ECL committee

Law Minister replaces Ayaz Sadiq as ECL convener

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reconstituted the Cabinet sub-committee on Exit Control List (ECL), replacing Minister for Economic and Political Affairs Ayaz Sadiq with Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar as convener.

According to a notification issued by the Centre, Ayaz Sadiq is to continue as a member of the committee.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar had been reinstated as the federal minister for law and justice after PM Shehbaz rejected his resignation.

According to a notification from the federal government, Tarar was allocated the law and justice portfolio while Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Political Affairs Ayaz Sadiq ceased to "hold the portfolio of law and justice".

Azam Nazeer Tarar took over his post as the law minister again after the retirement of army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
