Triple murder shocks Mardan village

Victims include woman and her two sons, husband survives with injuries

MARDAN:

A woman was shot dead along with her two adult sons inside her residence in Mardan district of K-P on Sunday.

Police said that the incident happened in the Mosam Korona area of Mardan city. Complainant Muhammad Rafiq lodged an FIR with police, stating that he was present at his house when the accused Hazrat Syed entered with a gun and opened fire.

“My wife and two sons Faizan and Haider died on the spot while I was badly injured. The attacker managed to escape after committing the crime,” he said. He said that there was a dispute going on between his family and the accused. Police registered an FIR and opened investigation in the case.

The triple murder case in broad daylight created widespread panic in the area. Police said that raids were being carried out to arrest the accused.

In a separate incident in Peshawar, police recovered a body in Hayatabad.

“The deceased looks like a drug addict who died either due to an overdose or extreme cold during the night,” said a police official.

He said that the body was sent for autopsy to Khyber Medical University.
