After more than a decade of discussions and hearsay, the classic comedic trilogy Rush Hour is finally returning to the big screens with a fourth instalment. The news was confirmed by none other than iconic actor Jackie Chan during the Red Sea Film Festival held in Saudi Arabia, reported Deadline.

"We're talking about part 4 right now," said the actor to a fan during the star-studded event.

Chan, who essays the comical Hong Kong detective Lee alongside Chris Tucker as James Carter in three Rush Hour films, also disclosed that he was going to meet up with the upcoming film's director the same evening to talk about the script.

Although the Dragon Blade actor did not reveal more details about the new film, it is presumed that Brett Ratner would not be joining the project due to the several allegations leveled against him for committing sexual harassment.

The Rush Hour trilogy follows an investigator from Hong Kong who is sent to work with a cheeky and outspoken LAPD officer to solve an international criminal case. The two share quite an amusing and lovable friendship, which only increases throughout the three films.
