KARACHI:

Senator Azam Swati’s son Usman Swati has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court against the cases filed on his father and requested the court to restrict the police from taking further action.

Barrister Usman Swati has taken the stand in the petition filed that the police should be stopped from registering more cases against Azam Swati in Sindh and all the cases in Sindh should be declared null and void.

Usman Swati was accompanied by opposition leaders Haleem Adil Sheikh, Khurram Sher Zaman, Firdous Shamim Naqvi and others.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Osman Swati, the son of Senator Azam Swati, said, “We have requested the court to summon all the cases. Let us know how many cases have been registered. Let the police tell how many more cases are there. The law is that only one case can be registered. We have requested to quash the cases.

“It is also requested that until the decision on this petition, the Sindh Police should be stopped from registering more cases. Father is in police custody in Quetta, that’s why I have come.” Former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan is looking into the case.

On this occasion, Firdous Shamim Naqvi said, “A person’s privacy has been violated. The video matter is an insult to the entire nation.”
