Student injured as two groups clash

Students ended the protest after police assured them that legal action would be taken against the attacker

RAWALPINDI:

A student was injured with a knife during an altercation between students of Government Gordon College and a private college in the Liaquat Bagh area.

According to police, a sport festival was under way in the Liaquat Bagh ground when students of Government Gordon College and the private college indulged a brawl. During the altercation, a student of the private college was injured with a knife.

Police arrived at the scene and shifted the injured student to the District Headquarters Hospital. Police said the injured student's condition was no longer in danger.

Meanwhile, students of the private college blocked Liaquat Road in protest after a student was injured during the altercation. They blocked Liaquat Road for an hour, and police diverted traffic to alternative routes.

The students ended the protest after police assured them that legal action would be taken against the attacker.
