US Ambassador expresses solidarity with Pakistan during 'trying times'

ISLAMABAD:

US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome on Tuesday acknowledged the level of economic losses being faced by the country due to the flood crisis and maintained that Washington stood with Islamabad in such “testing times”.

Ambassador Blome called on Finance and Revenue Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.

SAPM on Finance Tariq Bajwa, finance secretary and other senior officers from the Finance Division participated in the meeting, a statement issued here said.

Dar welcomed Blome and highlighted the historic and durable relations between Pakistan and the US on the economic and trade front.

The finance minister apprised the US ambassador about the ongoing post-flood reconstruction and rehabilitation projects being undertaken by the present government.

It was also shared that the incumbent government was highly concerned about the well-being of the people and that a number of measures were being undertaken in this regard.

Dar apprised the US ambassador about the government’s plans in terms of revenues and expenditures for meeting the national as well as international financial obligations.
