NADRA achieves yet another milestone
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has bagged the International Standards Organisation (ISO) 27001 certification, an international standard for information security management system.
A statement issued by NADRA said the organisation has achieved the milestone in its pursuit to become a cyber-resilient organisation.
NADRA is now ISO certified in ID card printing, networks and communications, infrastructure and information security departments, read the statement.
It has now been certified for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) which is among the most rigorous information security standards worldwide.
NADRA has recently received this certification in recognition of its exceptional commitment to protecting and safeguarding its information assets.
While congratulating the team, NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik said ISO certification reflects that NADRA is managing its ID assets with international standards which has now been endorsed by third-party audit.
He further elaborated that the certification is a testament to NADRA's commitment to ensuring security in compliance with international security standards.
He said the organisation’s procedures are audited regularly and the process is being improved to deliver the highest level of data protection.
Security by default (SbD) and privacy by design (PbD) protocols are two fundamental strategies at the heart of NADRA’s product and service development life cycle, he added.
“This further reinforces NADRA's commitment to maintaining security and integrity of citizen data and validates the security built into the application design and processes,” said the chairman.
