Customs officer gunned down in Peshawar
A former customs officer was gunned down on Monday by unidentified armed men on the Lala Kalay Road in Peshawar.
According to the police, Arbab Shabir Khan, a former superintendent of the Customs Department, was returning from Attock to Peshawar in his car when unidentified armed men sprayed his car with bullets.
The police said the scope of investigation had been widened, and they had obtained the footage of CCTV cameras.
According to the police, during preliminary investigation, it was found that a 30-bore pistol was used in the incident; the empty shells and other evidence were collected from the scene.
A case was registered against unidentified men.
In another incident, a civilian was shot and injured at the Basharat Market and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The injured was identified as Imdad Kamal.
According to the police, plaintiff Rehmanullah filed a report, telling the police that he was present at Basharat Market when the incident happened. He said that he heard gunshots but could not see where the bullets were fired from.
