KARACHI:

The annual dog show was held at the DHA Creek Club with over 250 dogs sauntering the track with their human handlers.

The participants of the canine festival were mesmerized by the cute and adoring movements of the animals termed as 'man's best friend'. There were at least 250 dogs of around 50 breeds.

Prominent among the dogs present at the show were all-time local family favourite German Shepherd, followed by Labrador, Rottweiler, and Siberian Husky. Among the lapdogs Chow Chow and Pug stood out in the dog show.

Organizers said the aim of the show was to create awareness among citizens about taking care of their pet dogs.

The contest was divided into two categories, the organisers said, one was exclusive for German Shepherds and the other was for all breeds.

The dog lovers present at the annual knell event also included prominent film and media personalities.

The participants said that they came to the show with their families in a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy the holiday.

While talking to The Express Tribune they said that Chow Chow and Pug breeds look very cute and are great pets to carry about. However, German Shepherd, Labrador, Rottweiler, and Siberian Husky are intimidating and great for security as well as a pet.

Children's faces beamed at their pet's performance, while some looked sad when their dogs got stage fright. Meanwhile, some dogs got excited and started barking causing quite a scare among the show's guests and participants.
