Differently-abled teen foils rape attempt

Raiwind police arrested a suspect over the attempted rape of a differently-abled 18-year-old girl. According to the police, the suspect, identified as Riaz, lured the victim to a nearby field and attempted to rape her. She started crying and making noise, causing nearby people to gather and alert police.

Police arrested the suspect and a case was registered against him. Further investigations into the matter were under way. In another incident, a female rape survivor staged a protest outside the house of former prime minister Imran Khan, accusing police of protecting the rapists.
