PESHAWAR:

The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Tashkent have agreed to organise trade exhibitions in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Uzbekistan in a bid to further strengthen bilateral trade ties between the two countries.

The agreement was signed between a delegation of the SCCI led by President Muhamamd Ishaq and Uzbekistan Ambassador Aybek Arif Usmanov in Islamabad, a statement issued here said.

The SCCI delegation comprised of Senior Vice President Shahid Hussain, former president Sherbaz Bilour, former vice presidents Junaid Altaf, Haris Mufti, and Naeemur Rehman.

Uzbekistan Commercial Consular in Islamabad, Bahraam Yusupnov was also present.

Ishaq informed the participants that a concrete mechanism would be devised under the chamber to improve Pak-Uzbek bilateral trade relations by bringing the business community of the two countries closer to each other, removing trade barriers, as well as obtaining benefits from common experiences and expertise.

This plan would play a vital role in boosting bilateral trade and economic relations between the two friendly countries, he said.
