Traffic Trials: Rickshaw drivers rally against wardens
The protesters also blocked traffic in the area for several hours on Faisalabad-Sargodha Road
FAISALABAD:
Hundreds of rickshaw owners and drivers staged a protest rally in front of the general bus stand against the atrocities of traffic police. A large number of locals demanded action against all traffic wardens who were unnecessarily booking drivers and fining them on flimsy charges. “Many times the traffic wardens just stop us and charge us for being a few feet outside of the marked line and demand a fine,” said a protester. The protesters also blocked traffic in the area for several hours on Faisalabad-Sargodha Road and chanted slogans against the traffic police. Protesters also said that traffic wardens misbehaved with them and abused commuters with impunity.
