ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal on Friday announced to set up a state-of-art institute for the training of teachers.

“Teacher training is the most important element after the development of the curriculum but unfortunately, it still remains missing,” the minister said while chairing a roundtable, organised by the planning commission to seek opinions from education experts who shared their input.

He said educational techniques have not changed in the past 50 years and efforts should also be made to revolutionise the madrassa education system.

He said that curriculum reforms were much needed because growth and innovation in education lead to progress and teachers have to act as learning managers to groom students socially so that they become responsible citizens.
