Man says financial woes pushed him to kill family, attempt suicide
The man accused of slaughtering his wife and three daughters before putting the knife to his throat said he had accrued huge debts and was under great stress so he decided "to end it all."
According to SSP Korangi Sajid Ameer Saduzai, the police have recorded the statement of the accused, Fawad, in which he said he started his business by taking loans from some people but suffered losses.
After the loss, the investors demanded him to return their money, which he could not.
The loss in business and deteriorating financial conditions at home led to fights with his wife daily.
On that day, the accused said first he stabbed his wife to death in the washroom, then he slaughtered his daughters and finally tried to kill himself.
The SSP said police recorded Fawad’s statement as soon as his condition improved, but it deteriorated again.
Doctors are trying to save his life.
