DIG Sanaullah Abbasi has been ordered to appear in court to explain progress made in murder case of Advocate Dahri.
KARACHI:
Hyderabad DIG Sanaullah Abbasi has been ordered to appear in court to explain what progress he has made in the murder case of Advocate Ali Muhammad Dahri.
The top police official was summoned by a division bench of the High Court of Sindh comprising Chief Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Imam Bux Baloch on Tuesday August 24 to appear on September 15.
Dahri was murdered on April 28 in Dadu in what is believed to have been an old enmity.
The next day, the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) passed a resolution demanding the chief justice to take notice of the killing of yet another lawyer.
His was the twelveth case in a year.
The Chief Justice converted the resolution into a constitutional petition and on June 8 appointed Abbasi to follow up.
But on Wednesday, when the petition was taken up, there was no progress report, leading the bench to pass the orders.
