Terrorist started firing at police when asked to surrender, was killed in return firing

LAKKI MARWAT:

A notorious terrorist, who was wanted to police in targeted attacks as well as bomb blast cases, was killed in an encounter with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Police said that Waheedullah alias Osma was present at a safe house where he was planning terrorist attack at police and the force received information about it following which security forces, police and CTD conducted a joint operation.

The terrorist started firing at police when asked to surrender and in return firing was killed. His aides managed to escape after committing the crime.

Police started a door to door search operation soon after the encounter but the terrorists managed to escape.

Police said that Wheedullah was active in Lakki and Bannu districts where he carried out attacks at police including bomb attacks.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession.

Lakki Marwat is considered one of the most volatile districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa along with South and North Waziristan where terrorists have staged deadly attacks at police.

Recently six policemen were martyred in a deadly ambush in the district and TTP claimed responsibility for the assault.
