The head bailiff along with the police contingent reached the Islamia College to vacate the historical building on court orders, where the students resisted.

According to the details of the court ruling, the Karachi police were ordered to vacate the Islamia College, which has been established for years, on which the police force reached to get the building vacated.

College students resisted the police operation and blocked the roads. Police resorted to baton charges to push back the students, while students also pelted stones at the police party. The police also used water cannons and tear gas shelling to disperse protesting students.

The police detained some students who were later released. We have come to support the court bailiffs. The police said that Islamia College was established on private property. The possession of the college will be handed over to the trustees who have won the case.

The principal of Islamia College, Ali Raz, said that there are four colleges and three school buildings on the premises of Islamia College. In total, more than 7,000 students are studying. "We respect the court order. But I am not aware of the court notice. The method being adopted is not correct," he added.

In this regard, Secretary of College Education Abdul Aleem Lashari said that the Islamic Education Trust could not present the documents of the ninety-nine-year lease in any court.
