Construction work on cemetery wall begins

Sources further said the locals thanked the former federal minister for getting their longstanding demand approved

HARIPUR:

Construction work on the boundary wall around a cemetery in Khalabat Township of Haripur has been started.

According to sources, the project was approved following the recommendation of former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf central secretary general Umar Ayub Khan.

The project will be completed at a cost of around Rs10 million, they said.

Officials concerned along with the contractor paid a visit to the site and issued instructions regarding the work, sources added.

Sources further said the locals thanked the former federal minister for getting their longstanding demand approved.

Incidents of transformer theft in Ghazi tehsil of the Haripur district have increased manifold during the last few weeks.

Sources said a 100kv transformer was stolen by unknown robbers from Jammu village days after a similar incident in Qazipur village.

The back-to-back robbery bids have worried the residents of the areas. The police seem helpless as no arrests have been made yet.
