Karan Johar called Bilal after watching ‘TLoMJ’ to praise him: Gohar Rasheed

The Bollywood filmmaker regarded the film as a ‘milestone for Pakistan’

Earlier this month, a picture of Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar watching Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt went viral but what we didn’t know was that the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham maker was so moved by the film that he actually called Lashari to praise him and his talent.

In a recent interview, actor Gohar Rasheed, who essays Makhaa Natt in the film, revealed that Johar especially called Lashari after watching the film to tell him how he admires him for his incredible work.

Rasheed claimed that Johar regarded the blockbuster “as a milestone for Pakistan and a moment of pride for the entire nation.” The Ishqiya actor added that such appreciation coming from Johar was a huge accomplishment for the whole team of TLOMJ.

The film has so far earned more than Rs150 crore from all across the world and is now aiming to mark another milestone by earning Rs2 million internationally. For now, the film has become the highest-grossing film from the Indian subcontinent in four months.

But it isn’t just Johar who loved the film. Lashari’s magnum opus is now the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time at the global box office in the fourth week of its release.

Produced by Ammarah Hikmat, it boasts of an ensemble cast starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Ali Azmat, Saima Baloch and Faris Shafi alongside veterans such as Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ejaz, Resham, Babar Ali and Raheela Agha.

The Legend of Maula Jatt was released on October 13, 2022, in 25 different territories with 500+ screens, making it one of the biggest releases to come out of Pakistan
