Sajjad Ali surprises fans with a soulful rendition of Faiz Ahmed Faiz's 'Raat Yun Dil Mein'

The singer made fans reminisce about the old days and watch 'Dhoop Kinare' again

Sajjad Ali surprised his fans on Tuesday with a soulful rendition of Faiz Ahmed Faiz's Raat Yun Dil Mein. The instrumental version of the poem made fans nostalgic for the glorious old days, of the people they spent memorable times with, and of the Marina Khan starrer Dhoop Kinare. 

Taking to Twitter, Ali posted a video of him playing the tune to Faiz's words and wrote, "Raat yun dil mein teri khoyi hui yaad aayi… Who else remembers (got nostalgic)?"

Social media users retweeted the clip and expressed their love for the Tum Naraz Ho singer. While some shared their favourite verses from the song, others complimented the singer on his beautiful performance.

"This video is a complete package. Sajjad Ali, Faiz Ahmed Faiz and this Qita is also a theme song of one of my favourite dramas Dhoop Kinare," wrote a fan. "I have no words but Wow!" she concluded with a heart.

The song was originally the TV serial Dhoop Kinare's theme song. "Pure nostalgia," wrote a user. "I suddenly got the urge to watch Dhoop Kinare again."

The sudden surprise also worried a fan. "Sir, is this sudden clip a hidden message by you? This tweet shocked me. Hope everything is okay."
