Humayun vows to watch ‘Zarrar’ after Shaan takes a dig at his films
Humayun Saeed chose to be the bigger person and vowed to watch Zarrar after Shaan Shahid took a dig at his films London Nahi Jaunga and Punjab Nahi Jaungi. The latter, albeit, has now clarified that he never meant to demean the actor and his productions but wanted local cinema to explore more genres instead of staying focused on rom-coms only.
The Arth actor, in response to Saeed’s shout out to Zarrar, shared, “Bhai, you can go wherever you wish. All I meant to say was that the producers and actors, who’re most active in the industry and create the most films, should explore all genres, and not just rom-coms. But I think the press likes to create controversies. Good luck with your upcoming film!”
The Crown actor, on Tuesday, tweeted, “Mai Idhar bhi jaonga aur udhar bhi jaonga, and I’ll go watch Zarrar as well. Zarrar releasing on 25th November! All the best Shaan Bhai."
Fahad Mustafa appreciated the gesture by Saeed. “You are my star Humayun Saeed. Whether you go here or there, you will be crowned globally. I have learnt so much from you a genuine superstar and an exceptional senior to look up to! More power to you.”
Farhan Saeed also hailed the Bin Roye actor as his inspiration and invited him to watch his upcoming film Tich Button.
The Twitter debate began after Shahid, who has been rather critical of the local content as of late, pointed out how filmmakers in the country need to explore more genres in the industry at a recent press meet for Zarrar.
"There are so many subjects and topics that filmmakers haven't touched on yet," Shaan shared with a local outlet. "There's horror, there's science fiction. We haven't used them. We need to move past 'Idhar Nahi Jaungi' or 'Udhar Nahi Jaungi'. If we do, then maybe we'd come towards those."
