Adnan Sami reacted to Pakistani cricket fans pitying him after he went on an all-time low dissing the Pakistan cricket team after they lost the T20 World Cup final against England on Sunday.

It’s one thing congratulating the winning team and another to post condescending songs to demean and diss the other players and their efforts — and the latter was not appreciated by fans across the border.

On Sunday, the singer posted Bappi Lahiri’s song in a tweet as a reference to how Pakistani cricket fans’ emotions after losing the World Cup. He wrote, “The better team won! Congratulations England. It’s just a game. A great lesson not to prematurely expand chests by rhetorics towards other team's defeats!” as he posted the diss track.

“I feel sorry for Adnan Sami. He will spend his entire life trying to prove he is Indian by hating Pakistan,” wrote a Pakistani fan in response to Sami’s low blow.

Another fan was glad to not have to consistently prove their loyalty to their country. “The funny thing is that you'll see more Muslim Indians mocking us than Hindu Indians. I really pity that you have to prove your loyalty for this country every day, can't relate,” they tweeted.

A tweep sent their love to Sami. “We hope he (the hyper-nationalist bhakts) pick you, sweetie,” read the tweet. Other fans thought it was yet another “failed” attempt by Sami to stay relevant on social media and not blow up “his cover.”

One user wrote, “Major General Adnan Sami is trying his best not to blow up his cover,” while another wrote, “Showing the Indian flag in your display picture and abusing your motherland by any means shows your character. You are neither a citizen of Pakistan nor India. Patriotism is different, but you are a disgrace to any country. God will never forgive you.”
