Kidnappers demanding Rs50m as ransom arrested

The Sindh Rangers and police, in a joint operation on Saturday, raided a house in Dawood Shoro Goth in Shah Latif Town and recovered two abducted minor boys and arrested four kidnappers identified as Umair, Asif, Manzoor and Abu Bakr.

According to the details, kidnappers on Friday evening abducted two minor brothers, 3-year-old Muhammad Rohan and 8-year-old Muhammad Rahim, from Hajirabad area of ​​Shah Faisal Colony, when they were going for tuition. The kidnappers contacted Muhammad Raheel, the father of kidnapped boys, and demanded a ransom of Rs50 million for their release. Raheel informed the Shah Faisal Colony police, and the police after registering a case launched a search.

On Saturday morning, based on intelligence information and modern technical means, the police and rangers raided a house in Dawood Shoro Goth near Chokundi Cemetery in the Shah Latif Town area and rescued the kidnapped boys safely.

During the operation, four kidnappers, two in injured condition, were arrested, and three mobile phones, two motorcycles and a pistol were recovered from their possession.

Two of the arrested kidnappers Umair and Asif are real brothers who suffered injuries during the operation. The rescued children were handed over to their parents.

A spokesperson for Sindh Rangers has appealed to the people to report such incidents immediately to the nearest check post, Rangers helpline 1101 or Rangers Madadgar WhatsApp no 03479001111 by calling or through SMS. The name of the whistleblower will be kept confidential, the spokesperson said.

Blackmailer held

The FIA Cyber Crime Circle Karachi arrested a man involved in filming women inside his office after inviting them on the pretext of interview for jobs.

According to the FIA spokesman, Cyber Crime Circle arrested the accused Yasir Mehmood on the basis of the complaint made by one of the victims.

The spokesman said that the accused used to post fake job ads on the social media and made obscene videos of women who visited him for employment. Yasir was involved in sexually harassing and blackmailing the ladies, the spokesman said.

A case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act(PECA) has been registered against him. Further investigation into the matter was underway.

Quack killed

A quack was shot dead in a targeted shooting near Super Highway in Gadap city on Saturday.

Suspected assailants pulled up their car near 40-year-old Dr. Haroon, who was going to his “clinic” from home, and fatally shot him near Osmania Hotel, in Gadap city.

According to Zulfiqar, SHO Gadap City police station, Dr. Haroon had a “clinic”, known as “Khyber Clinic”, built in shops owned by a madrassah behind Osmania Hotel. He lived in Qasim Goth near his clinic.

SHO Zulfiqar said that the victim was shot four times with two weapons as police investigators found five empties from 30-bore and 9mm pistols. He further said that the deceased had two wives; one with whom he had three children is settled in Peshawar, while he lived with his second wife in Qasim Goth. Preliminary investigation suggests the murder had personal motives.
