LAHORE:

In the wake of threats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) long march, the Cabinet Standing Committee on Law and Order (SCCLO) ordered the installation of a bulletproof rostrum on Imran Khan’s container.

A meeting of the Punjab SCCLO was held on Friday at the Civil Secretariat, chaired by Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Cooperatives and Environmental Protection Muhammad Basharat Raja.

Security arrangements for the ongoing PTI long march were reviewed in the meeting, with the relevant Commissioners and RPOs delivering briefings on the arrangements. Acting Chief Secretary Punjab Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Acting Inspector General Punjab Police, ACS (Home) and other officers also participated in the meeting. Chairman Committee Basharat Raja said that on the instructions of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, party workers ended the sit-ins and cleared roads leading to the motorways.

“In the next phase, all arrangements should be made for the long march in Jhelum and Mandi Bahauddin,” he asserted.
