ISLAMABAD:

Lawyer for Faisal Vawda submitted written reply to the two questions posed by the Supreme Court relating to Vawda’s appeal against his lifelong disqualification, as the court adjourned the further hearing of the appeal due to lack of time and unavailability of judges on the bench next week.

On the last hearing of the case, the court had asked two questions: whether or not the disqualification under Article 62 by high court was maintainable in the Supreme Court, or the used its power under Article 187 to meet the requirements of complete justice in the light of the facts.

Heading a three-member bench, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial reminded Vawda’s lawyer Wasim Sajjad about the replies to the questions. Sajjad said that he had prepared a written reply. The chief justice said that the court would peruse the written replies. The hearing was then adjourned till the week, starting from Nov 21.
