ISLAMABAD:

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday termed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Egypt as “very successful”, adding that the COP-27 conference on devastating effects of climate change was fruitful for Pakistan.

In a statement, the minister noted that losses and disasters, for the first time, were recognised as a cause of increased financial pressure on the developing countries.

She noted that a global consensus to provide financial resources to compensate for the losses of developing countries had been reached.

Censuring PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Marriyum maintained that on one side PM Shehbaz was serving the masses whereas on the other a “proponent was creating chaos and anarchy”.

“Premier Shehbaz has been struggling to protect flood victims from cold, disease and hunger but there is a group of people led by a mischief who block the roads [and make it difficult] for the sick children and ambulances to reach the hospital.”

Hailing PM Shehbaz, she said the premier had stabilised the country’s economy and strengthened its fundamentals.

On the other hand, there is a mastermind of sit-ins, arson and killing, who in lust for power is attacking every institution, public and private property, she said while referring to the PTI chief.

Prime Minister Shehbaz is renewing diplomatic relations and cooperation with friendly countries, and restoring Pakistan's global prestige, she added. APP
