ANP leader decries K-P govt’s ‘silence’ on rising terrorism

Aimal Wali says provincial govt’s top priority is to elevate Imran to premiership

PESHAWAR:

Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) President Aimal Wali Khan has said that the government’s “silence” on the increasing incidents of terrorism in the province is a “criminal act”.

“On the one hand, terrorists are harming people’s lives and property, on the other hand, educational terrorism is also on the rise due to the influence of the government,” he said.

Reacting to the attack on the police station in Lower Waziristan and the protests by girls in Wana, Khan said that an ambulance was burnt to ashes in Lower Waziristan and weapons were also stolen.

After setting fire to the entire police station, the terrorists took the vehicle and machine guns with them, he said.

“Who will these weapons be used against? The imported spokesperson of the province should also know that the "Jirga" people have accepted responsibility for the incident,” he remarked.

He also said that terrorists have organised from Waziristan to Bajaur, and from Swat to Chitral and the government is becoming their “sympathizer”.

Instead of caring for the lives and property of the people, the provincial government is blocking the way for the leader of Punjab, he added.

“The priority of the K-P government is not the people but to elevate their leader to the prime minister’s office; the people are just being given patience pills,” he further said.

“We are proud of the police, thanks to their sacrifices, the establishment of peace was possible, but unfortunately today they are being left alone. Let the government sleep, K-P police and the people will fight this scourge of terrorism together,” the ANP leader said.

He also remarked that neglecting the safety of life and property, the government has also started “educational terrorism”.
