Filling station staff robbed of Rs2.7m

A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway

GUJAR KHAN:

In yet another broad daylight robbery incident, armed robbers make away with Rs2.7 million from the staff of a filling station in Gujar Khan on Monday.

According to the police, the staff of the filling station, situated within the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan police station, were on their way to a bank when they were intercepted by robbers.

As a result, the robbers managed to get away with cash.

District Superintend of Police and Station House Officer (SHO) of the police station concerned arrived at the robbery spot after being informed about the incident. SHO Inspector Malik Nazir said the police have started a manhunt while further investigation will be conducted after the registration of the case.

On the same day, Rawalpindi police arrested a motorcycle lifter. A police spokesman, a team under the supervision of SHO, Airport Police Station managed to net an accused named Akash and recovered seven stolen motorcycles, cash, and other items from his possession.

A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway, he added.
