CM orders IG to gear up ops in ‘katcha’ areas
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the police to pace up action against the criminal gangs operating from the riverbed areas in Sukkur and Larkana divisions.
Expressing grief over the martyrdom of five cops in Ghotki district allegedly by Sultu Shar Gang, the CM asked all the police officers posted in the districts where the dacoits operate to form a joint strategy for the operations.
Shah told the police to increase the number of pickets and to reinforce the police stations with more personnel.
He announced that the policemen posted in riverbed areas will also be given a special allowance.
The Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi Memon has been asked to submit a proposal in this regard.
He also underlined the need of creating a separate riverine police force for the areas in question.
The CM said the government will build and reconstruct the road network in the riverbed areas on priority.
"I want peace in the riverbed areas. The government will provide whatever funds are required." He directed the IGP Memon to announced head money for the wanted dacoits.
