Capital police introduce e-challan system
The Islamabad Capital Police (traffic) have introduced a new e-challan system in the Federal Capital.
The new system has also been linked to the excise and taxation officer’s (ETO) office and the safe city project.
Now, the transfer of any vehicle or motorcycle will be impossible without the payment of the fine amount.
Under the new system, violators will receive messages of e-challan ticket on their mobile phones. The challans will also be sent to the violators on their registered addresses.
The copy of the challan will be pasted into the master file of the vehicle if a person fails to pay the amount fine on time.
Chief Traffic Police Officer SSP Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that the new challan system was yielding substantial results. Due to effective monitoring of the e-challan system, there has been a decrease in horrific accidents and other violations, he said. He praised the performance of the traffic police and said that we will enhance the performance of the latest system of challan through safe city cameras”.
He said that the objective of the system was to control traffic accidents and implement traffic rules and regulations.
