Welfare organisation launches farm project

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has launched a project worth Rs400 million to uplift 5,000 farmers owning less than five acres of land in deluged areas across the country.

Ahead of cultivation of Rabi crops, the organisation’s president Muhammad Abdus Shakoor inaugurated the ‘Alkhidmat Farmer Rehabilitation Project’ in Taunsa, distributing agricultural inputs, seeds, fertilisers and pesticides to 100 flood-affected farmers during a ceremony in Dera Ghazi Khan. Apart from massive destruction, flooding has also affected thousands of farmers by washing away their crops, leaving millions at the brink of starvation.
