ISLAMABAD:

The ECP on Tuesday ordered PTI Chairman Imran Khan to submit a written reply in the case of violation of code of conduct during the NA-45 by-election.

According to details, the hearing was chaired by chief election commissioner on the violation case during the Kurram by-polls in which Imran Khan’s lawyer appeared on his behalf.

Taking a jibe at Imran Khan’s absence, member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan asked his lawyer Barrister Gohar “whether Imran Khan will ever come to us”? Barrister Gohar replied, “yes, God willing, he will come but this is not a summoning case”.

The CEC remarked that this is not a case of defamation of the commission but a case of code of conduct. Barrister Gauhar asked for more time in order to submit the affidavit and reply, to which member K-P said that Imran had already refused regarding the affidavit in the Supreme Court, it has become very important to submit the letter of attorney.

The Election Commission adjourned the hearing till November 7 and ordered that Imran submit a written answer before that.
