Six rounded up in combing operation

East District police conducted a combing operation in the Bahadurabad and surrounding areas and detained six people for questioning.

No contraband or prohibited items were recovered from the detained persons, police spokesperson said. According to the details, an operation was conducted to curb criminal activityies in District East.

In this regard Bahadurabad police officials went to various stores, tea shops, restaurants and eateries to verify the credentials of people hanging out. They conducted biometric check of people with the help of Talash app, a web-based application that holds criminal records.

The spokesperson said that the combing operation was carried out on the directives of Karachi Police Chief to deal with the criminal elements. SDPOs and SHOs participated in the operation. During the operation, houses, shops, hotels and other suspicious places were also searched.

The data was screened through the search app to identify suspects and criminal elements. Six suspects were detained during the operation who will be released after verification, the spokesperson said.
