Schemes worth Rs1b approved for seven Pindi tehsils

Projects include new water supply and sewerage lines

Development schemes worth Rs1 billion have been approved for all seven tehsils of Rawalpindi district. Tenders will be opened in the third week of November following which work orders will be issued to successful contractors.

Schemes worth Rs250 million for Rawalpindi tehsil, Rs330 million for Gujjar Khan tehsil, Rs120 million for Murree tehsil, Rs100 million for Kahuta and Kallar Syedan tehsil each, Rs70 million for Kotli Sattian tehsil and Rs90 million for Taxila tehsil have been approved.

These development schemes will include the construction of water supply, sewage, drainage system, construction of the school's boundary walls, streets, and roads. All these development schemes will be completed by the ministry of local government.

According to the sources inside the ministry, all the development schemes will be completed in around 30 to 100 days. Carpeting of all broken roads of seven tehsils is also included in these schemes.

When contacted Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi said that the funds have been released for the development schemes which have been recommended by the members of the provincial assembly. He said that all the development projects included in the annual development program (ADP) will also continue separately.
