Police bust ‘Mamu-Bhanja’ gang of criminals

Seven family members arrested for allegedly committing street crimes, house robberies

KARACHI:

Ittehad Town Police arrested a seven-member Mamu-Bhanja (Uncle-Nephew) gang involved in committing crimes in different areas.

SHO Ittehad Town Inspector Ghulam Rasool Arbab said that the Uncle-Nephew gang had been active for a long time, and the police were looking for them.

The accused committed street crimes and house robberies in Shershah, Baldia Town, Madina Colony, Orangi Town, and other areas of district west.

All the seven accused are relatives including one uncle and his nephew.

Police recovered five pistols, six motorcycles, and seventeen mobile phones from their possession.

The accused included Waiz, Zahid Ismail, Sajid, Taha, Imran, Azhar, and Umair who belonged to South Punjab and lived in a rented house in the Qaim Khani Colony of Baldia.

Cases have been registered against the accused in different police stations.

Police are investigating the accused further.
