Police say main suspect Abdul Ghafoor still at large

Docks police, with the help of videos that went viral on social media, are conducting raids to arrest the people involved in the incident of killing two employees of a telecom company, Aiman Javed and Ishaq Panhor.

According to details, a group of residents falsely accused and tortured the two innocent telecom employees who had gone to the area to check the signals of the company in Machar Colony, which resulted in their death.

On the night of the incident, a heavy contingent of police and rangers conducted a search operation for several hours in Machhar Colony and detained 34 suspects.

The case was registered under Section 147, 148, 149, 302, 427, 435 and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on the complaint of Ishaq Panhor's fraternal, Muhammad Yaqub.

SSP Keamari Fida Hasan Januari told The Express Tribune that following the event, police nabbed 15 individuals while more than 200 unknown persons were also nominated in the case while five were identified through the video.

He said that three more suspects have been named among the detained individuals.

During the operation, a motorcycle was also recovered from a warehouse.

He said that the main suspect involved in the incident has been identified as Abdul Ghafoor.

Meanwhile, family and friends of deceased Ishaq and Ayman Javed, protested outside the Karachi Press Club on Saturday and demanded an immediate arrest of the accused involved in the gruesome incident.

The protestors appealed to the government to compensate the families of the deceased and prevent such incidents from happening again.

Meanwhile, Karachi administrator, Barrister Murtaza Wahab strongly condemned the killing of the victims.
