1.63m children get polio jabs

Week-long drive aimed to immunise two million children under the age of five in the provincial capital

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali chaired a meeting on Friday to review progress of the anti-polio drive started on Oct 24.

A week-long drive was launched to achieve the target of immunising
over two million children under the age of five in the provincial capital.

Additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, officials of health department, Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) and others were also present at the meeting.

The attendees were briefed that around 1.63 million children were administered polio drops during the last four days, with around 43 refusal cases resolved after convincing parents.
