Funeral prayers in absentia offered for Arshad Sharif

PTI's Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman says Arshad Sharif was a hero of the nation

The funeral prayers in absentia were offered for the slain journalist Arshad Sharif at Mazar-e-Quaid on Thursday by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Karachi chapter.

Prominent among the attendees were PTI's Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman, its Karachi chapter President Bilal Ahmed Ghaffar, legislators Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Aftab Jahangir, Jamal Siddiqui, Shah Nawaz Jadoon, Ali Aziz, Rabistan Khan, Saeed Afridi, and others.

Speaking to the media after the symbolic funeral, Zaman said that Arshad Sharif's tragic killing has saddened the entire Pakistan as hundreds of thousands of people turned up to attend his last rites in Islamabad on Thursday.

Zaman said that Arshad Sharif was a hero of the nation. "I salute all the journalists who are raising their voice like Arshad Sharif," he added.
