Senior Kashmiri leader Abbas Ansari passes away

Maulana Ansari was indisposed for a long time, however, his condition deteriorated two days ago, the family said

Maulana Abbas Ansari, former chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the chairman of the Ittehad al-Muslimeen, passed away in Srinagar on Tuesday after protracted ailment.

According to the Ansari family, Maulana Ansari’s funeral was held after Zuhr prayers before he was laid to rest in the family’s graveyard in Srinagar.

Maulana Ansari was indisposed for a long time, however, his condition deteriorated two days ago, the family said. They added that he passed away at his residence in Srinagar.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan expressed grief over the death of Maulana Ansari. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference also expressed grief over his demise.
