Your strength is contagious: Anushka praises Kohli for playing 'best innings of his life'
Anushka Sharma was a proud wife on Sunday after her husband, Indian star batsman Virat Kohli's stellar inning propelled India to win a thrilling match against Pakistan. The arch-rivals faced each other for the first match on-field in Melbourne for the ongoing T20 Cricket World Cup.
Kohli's inning helped India to victory in a nail-biting show in Australia and Sharma was all praises for his husband.
Taking to her Instagram handle Sharma shared an appreciation post for Kohli along with images while watching the game saying, “You beauty!! You freaking beauty!! You have brought so much joy into people's lives tonight and that too on the eve of Diwali! You are a wonderful wonderful man, my love. Your grit, determination and belief are mind-boggling!"
She went on to add, "I have just watched the best match of my life I can say and although our daughter is too small to understand why her mother was dancing around and screaming wildly in the room, one day she will understand that her dad played his best innings that night which followed after a phase that was tough on him but he came out of it stronger and wiser than ever before!"
Adding how proud she is of her star husband, the Band Bajaa Baraat actor shared, "Your strength is contagious and you, my love, are limitless! Love you forever and through thick and thin.”
Kohli was quick to respond to her post and commented, "Thank you my love for being by my side through everything every single moment. I feel so grateful and love you so much."
During the press conference after the match, the Indian batsman shared that he spoke to Sharma right after the match, revealing that the Bollywood diva was over the moon with his stellar innings.
"I spoke to my wife Anushka, she was over the moon. She just told me one thing, 'People are so happy. They are calling me to express their happiness, I don't know what to do.' So, I don't realise what is happening on the outside. My job is to do it on the field", he said.
Kohli played his crucial cameo along with Hardik Pandya as both built a hundred-run partnership, which became a turning point in India's victory. The 33-year-old played a crucial cameo of 53-balls 82 runs with six fours and four massive sixes. For this match-winning cameo, Virat Kohli was awarded Man of the Match.
