Interior minister Langove condemns blast; seeks report from deputy commissioner Kalat

KALAT:

At least two security personnel were martyred and three injured on Saturday in an explosion in Kalat, Balochistan.

According to Express News, Levies officials said that the explosive material was planted along a roadside in the city’s Joban area.

Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has condemned the blast, and sought a report from Kalat's deputy commissioner.

He furthered that the injured have been shifted to a hospital for medical assistance. The minister has also directed officials to tighten the checking at entry and exit routes of the city.

Longve added that such cowardly attacks will not weaken "our commitment to fight" terrorism. “We will continue to fight till the end of terrorism,” the minister added.

The interior minister prayed for the martyred personnel, and the full recovery of those injured in the blast.

The incident comes just days after three people were killed and four injured in a blast in Balochistan's Mastung district.

Levies sources told The Express Tribune that a vehicle carrying the body of a man, killed by unknown men, drove over a landmine in Qabu area of Mastung.

Mastung Deputy Commissioner Sultan Bugti said that the vehicle of tribal leader Shah Nawaz Bangulzai was targeted in the attack. He confirmed that three people were killed and four were injured, adding that the injured were rushed to Mastung hospital for medical treatment.

The tribal elder was accompanying the body of the slain tube well operator.
