RAWALPINDI:

Armed robbers took away a trailer truck full of peanuts along with cash and mobile phones from the trailer's staff within the Chakri police limits

Rafiullah, the complainant, informed the police authorities that he was a goods transporter and was travelling along with his crew members in a 22-wheel-trailer worth Rs1.9 million along with peanuts worth Rs4 million to Peshawar.

When they reached Mouza Dhadhumber, three armed suspects stopped them and snatched the loaded trailer along with Rs300,000 in cash and three mobile phones.

“The robbers tied our hands and feet and escaped away while issuing threats to us,” the complainant said in his statement. At this, the police registered a case of robbery and started an investigation.

A police spokesperson said that the complainant had raised suspicion against one of his former employees, who is being investigated for his alleged involvement in the robbery.

He said the suspects abandoned the trailer in a desolate place and decamped with the peanuts worth Rs4 million.
