5 suspects arrested for attempted murder

The Thikriwala police arrested five suspects involved in the case of murder and attempted murder and remanded them in custody.

According to the police report, a few days ago in the area of Thikriwala police station, eleven persons, including the accused Arslan, Irfan, Naveed, Shahid and Zahid, killed Zeeshan Haider and injured Sultan by shooting.

Taking notice of the matter, CPO Kamran Adil formed teams under the leadership of SP Iqbal Town Abid Zafar and SHO Thikriwala Shahid Awan, who conducted raids at various places and arrested five accused.

Meanwhile, SHO Kharrianwala Musaddiq Riaz and Lady Sub Inspector Kharrianwala Police Station Aqsa Yunus were suspended and issued show cause notices for wrong investigation of a murder case.

City Police Officer DIG Kamran Adil issued orders to suspend the two employees due to complaints of misconduct and wrongful investigation of the murder case.

Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested four suspects for stealing street poles near the Deputy Wala Interchange on the motorway on Wednesday.

The suspects were found involved in dismantling street poles at the Deputy Wala Interchange and loading them onto a rickshaw in the late hours of the night within the jurisdiction of Chak Jhumra police station. Cops present at the interchange on duty apprehended them along with the stolen items.
